We’re Nizlopi, yo
Music really does heal the soul.
I’ve been in the dumps of late. With work, with people, with issues and with malignant lumps. The world was closing in on me . . .
. . . and then this turns up in the post.
The much delayed Nizlopi album from UK! It truly was a lifesaver of sorts and I absolutely believe in coincidences.
Music accompanies me through everything and this band, above all other bands, does just that. Nizlopi has a very dear spot in my heart. They saw me through Xmas ‘05 in UK and dark days soon after. And they are seeing me through now. I desperately wanted their CD that has a track for every mood I can possibly feel. Simple, sincere and clear, Nizlopi will always remind me of Freedom and Faith. The one most prominent in my mp3list is JCB, their first single. It reminds me of innocence and Transformers. Whereas their second single Girls is about love that’s difficult to replace.
My fave lyrics from Girls . . .
And I’m smothered in, memories and you are too
What is given back, we can’t unglue
And all this sticks to me, some days sweet like honey, some days tart like marmite
Straight to your heart, sweetheart, straight to your heartYou’ve gotta love and forgive or you can’t breathe
You’ve got to search and be with or you can’t breathe
I’ve got something to give, before I leave that I could never rub outThe craft the craft, of laughs and searching
The path the path, of always searching
All from the heart, all from the need, all from the love, all from the bleed
Thanks Luke and John.
And most of all, thank you D.

Well put! Good to see this song means as much to someone else as it does to me. Not just the words, not just the melody, not just the way it’s sung - all of it. Outstanding. Oh, and nice blog too…..
