I’m sure you all know that he has been remanded for another 4 days under the Section 8 of the OSA over allegations that he had documents linked to Deputy Internal Security Minister Datuk Johari Baharom’s alleged involvement in corruption.

Section 8. Wrongful communication, etc. of official secret.

(1) If any person having in his possession or control any official secret or any secret official code word, countersign or password which —

(a) relates to or is used in a prohibited place or relates to anything in such a place;

(b) relates to munitions of war and to other apparatus, equipment and machinery which are used in the maintenance of the safety and security of Malaysia;

(c) has been made or obtained in contravention of this Act;

(d) has been entrusted in confidence to him by any public officer; or

(e) he has made or obtained, or to which he has had access, owing to his position as a person who holds or has held office in the public service, or as a person who holds, or has held a contract made on behalf of the Government, or as a person who is or has been employed by or under a person who holds or has held such an office or contract,

does any of the following:

(i) communicates directly or indirectly any such information or thing to any foreign country other than any foreign country to which he is duly authorized to communicate it, or any person other than a person to whom he is duly authorized to communicate it or to whom it is his duty to communicate it;

(ii) uses any such official secret or thing as aforesaid for the benefit of any foreign country other than any foreign country for whose benefit he is duly authorized to use it, or in any other manner prejudicial to the safety or interests of Malaysia;

(iii) retains in his possession or control any such thing as aforesaid when he has no right to retain it, or when it is contrary to his duty to retain it, or fails to comply with all lawful directions issued by lawful authority with regard to the return or disposal thereof; or

(iv) fails to take reasonable care of, or so conducts himself as to endanger the safety or secrecy of, any such official secret or thing,

he shall be guilty of an offence punishable with imprisonment for a term not less than one year but not exceeding seven years.

(2) If any person receives any official secret or any secret official code word, countersign or password knowing or having reasonable ground to believe at the time when he receives it, that the official secret, code word, countersign or password is communicated to him in contravention of this Act, he shall, unless he proves that the communication to him of the official secret, code word, countersign or password was contrary to his desire, be guilty of an offence punishable with imprisonment for a term not less than one year but not exceeding seven years.

They are saying that Nat is responsible for this comment left by some stranger in a post (I would link to it but I don’t want the post to have a pingback). They are also saying that the comment posted which was cut and pasted from another site - and by all means could be one of those fucker Cyber Crime assholes who planted it there 6 months ago - is an official secret itself.

Let me spell something out to you. An official secret has to be true to begin with. If its false means its just a rumour or totally useless information. Does this mean the content in that very cut and paste comment is TRUE? That Johari is the most powerful but corrupted deputy minister? Does this mean Johari did take RM5 million to let 3 kingpins out of ISA? If it’s not true, then why remand Nat under the OSA? Thanks for spelling it out to us Royal Malaysian Police. Now we know better.

Johari said he ordered police to investigate on the two Freewebs website that bears that ‘official secret’. Remember, defamation is one thing, calling it an ‘official secret’ is another. If Nat can get in trouble for a comment left in his blog. Then words to those who have posted it up on their blog, you could be next.

ACA Probe Against Johari Baharum Closed, Says A-G

PUTRAJAYA, July 11 (Bernama) — Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail has ordered the Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) investigation against Deputy Internal Security Minister Datuk Johari Baharum closed.

The decision was made as there was no statement to link Johari who was said to have received RM5 million for releasing several criminals detained under the Emergency Ordinance 1969, said an Attorney-General Department statement issued to BERNAMA here today.

Gani said the ACA opened five investigation papers after receiving information on the matter on March 5.

Statements were recorded from criminals detained under the ordinance and related statements of accounts were also scrutinised.

“For the three investigation papers, the ACA investigation found that the said criminals had denied giving Datuk Johari Baharum money as bribe.

“Two other investigation papers opened showed that several of the criminals who are important witnesses could not be traced after their release,” said Gani.

The ACA investigation which was based on witnesses and documents found no statement that could link Johari to corruption.

“As such, the Attorney-General has ordered that the ACA investigation involving the five investigation papers opened against Datuk Johari Baharum be closed.”

Gani said the ACA investigation took some time as statements of accounts had to be analysed and that statements had to be taken from relevant witnesses.

Tracing the witnesses also took some time while several could not be found.

Johari had denied claims that he was involved in corruption.

I say fuck this bull shit. Somebody lied and fucked up somewhere and it sure ain’t Nat. How much did Johari pay this off?

I say this is a politically-motivated and high-handed measure to secure disarray in PKR when general election is around the corner.

I say this is an insult to responsible blogging and a very responsible blogger.

I say this is oppression by using lame excuses to with hold a person under draconian laws with the intention to intimidate and subject a person to duress.

I say Nat is gonna come out of remand smelling like a rose and would have converted every single person kept in remand with him to be PKR supporters (I’ve been informed that Nat has formed new friendships in Dang Wangi lockup already!)

By the way, the assistant investigating officer (must learn to take down names!) said they have been monitoring Nat ’six months ago’. The post in question was dated on December 22nd, 2006. But the ‘official secret’ comment that Johari is the most powerful but corrupted deputy minister was dated Feb 10, 2007. So if the comment only cropped up 5 months ago …. there’s a discrepancy of one month and that’s a mighty long time.

And to The Star who so smartly defamed Nat this morning - I’m on to sniff out the irresponsible jouno who pieced that lousy ‘wannabe tapi tak jadi lagi dicuri’ cut and paste blog post. Mark my words.

Oh and I think somebody’s jamming our internet and phone signals. Call me paranoid. In this country, anything can happen.
