squeak. speak. roar!

. . . on what divides and unites the nation.

The morning after.

Hi guys.

From Nat’s 5 year old cousin, James :) Freedom tea time.

The past fews days have been surreal. Nat is still in bed now but I decided to get up and blog a little before the day gets too hectic. He looks so peaceful when he sleeps :)

THANK YOU everybody for everything - for support, encouragement, strength and words of comfort.

I don’t intend to write too much of what’s happening as I don’t intend to be the source of news about him. I know many are concerned but Nat for now wants precious family time. What I can share is that he has expressed requested that I don’t step two feet away from him. lol. I know, we’re gross. He’ll speak when the time’s right. He’ll be blogging again real soon. I’m sure PKR will have a press conference for Nat soon too.

I can’t stop thanking everybody … so THANK YOU ALL AGAIN! Especially bloggers! You guys know the score, we need to be doing something about this.

Gonna catch up on correspondence now and let Nat’s friends from all over the world know he’s alright :)

Nat just woke up and expressed that this bone part right on top of his butt still hurts from all that sleeping on the cement floor in the past 5 days. I told him that it must be the sacrum part of the spine which was actually a tail before we evolved into what we are today. He then told me to share that on my blog.

Uh, okay :)

lol.

hey, thought you’d like to know that the Bar Council released a press statement today condemning Nat’s arrest and the way it was done. It also asked for his immediate release. Or did you know this already?

In any event, I’m glad that he’s safe and sound with you now… let me know if you need anything k?
take care and be strong, girl.

Well have fun. Funny aint it how it takes something like this to sometimes make you realise just how important a person really is in your life. Separation does indeed makes the heart grow fonder. You start noticing stuff, little things about the person… you never saw before.

Ugh, I’m getting mushy now… Have fun, puppies.

great that this episode is over. i bet its drained all your energy.

looking back at it i wonder how long “they” have been planning it and also what “their” overall game plan is..

u think “they” anticipate nat would be put up as a GE candidate and want him to be convicted a.k.a cannot run? if yes then who’s next on the list?

Hey - BIG Thanks Politikus,EliWong et.al who put the pressure on, you’ve done well ! i first read about Nat’s arrest on Malaysiakini and my instinct was to go to Amnesty Malaysia’s website for their condemnation of the dubious detention. there was none. in fact, their condemnation came only yesterday - the day Nat was RELEASED. too late to make an impact ? i’d say so.

i concede they have proper procedures to follow in investigating matters. as a friend puts it - to “maintain credibility” … however, credibility comes not only from due diligence but is also awarded by “us” the public. i have no doubt they put in a lot of work behind the scenes which deserves credit - but, activism needs to be VISIBLE. this time around, Amnesty has been a let down - in my eyes.

if it wasnt possible to outrightly condemn Nat’s detention WHEN he was arrested, there’s no RISK in announcing you are looking into the issue. Amnesty could have played up their “WatchDog” facade — to declare, announce, WARN and make it very clear they are in WatchDog-mode and are indeed looking over the shoulders of the police on this matter. this lack of indication on AI Malaysia’s website was shocking.

let’s not have another episode like this where the global brand for Human Rights cant find its voice.

You set the standards - tikus !
