I tried ikan terubok for the very first time.
The bones scared me and I failed to appreciate the fish.
Like how Beyonce became so scared of the backlash in this country that she decided to perform in Indonesia instead.
The cancellation was due to her management’s concern over “demonstrations from student groups in mainly Muslim Malaysia, where other female performers have been forced to cover up on stage”. Ouch.
Remember Gwen Stefani who went ahead with her scheduled performance despite protests from an Islamic student group which said her normal skin-baring act could erode Islamic values?
Was there a hike in people leaving the religion after her concert? How can one have faith in the religion, if it doesn’t have faith in itself?
I’m just glad I got to see Muse. With weed in the air and sweat everywhere, that didn’t erode any Islamic values at all :)
