squeak. speak. roar!

. . . on what divides and unites the nation.

Save Petaling Jaya Selatan!!

I recently discovered this along Lorong Timur - just beside the Taman Jaya LRT (where I’ve done my share of activism in demanding taxi signs for the station - see here and here) and opposite A&W and Shah’s Village Hotel.

AN ELECTION GOODIE!!!! *grrr roarr*

So why wasn’t it here after 2004? Why is it only a few meters long and it doesn’t cover the whole stretch? Why now???? I take the LRT every day. This was only built last week!

So it’s a community project by my ADUN whom I’ve never met ever. I have only heard of him on three occasions - last year on Chinese New Year and Hari Raya (cos got open house) and this Chinese New Year (for open house, again). Fucking racist cos no open house on Deepavali and Christmas. Damn you Malaysians. But what the fuck? Now only he bothered to put up walkway roofing and he had the nerve to put his name and sign there. Celaka. So big for what, you think people blind issit?

As you can see I am very annoyed with this roofing thing. It’s almost pointless. The roofing only extends to the walk way, which means a person would’ve gotten wet the moment he/she crosses the road. And it ends halfway. Not even all the way to the end of Lorong Timur that joins with Jalan Sultan. It’s like if I vote for Dr Lim Thuan Seng, it would be with one line and not a cross. Half a vote lah. Nah. Take lah.

Ish.

I hate this whole last minute election goodie shit. It’s a bloody insult to residents of PJS’ intelligence. I for one am not suckered into voting for him. PJS has deteriorated beyond recognition. I have not forgotten the extremely poor upkeep of roads, drains and the bloody congestion on more roads … I think I hate PJ roads so much, it sickens me to drive. And all the money wasted on stupid fugly street lamps that don’t work. Have you seen the gawd awful roundabouts in PJ? They are obscenely disgusting, a waste of public funds because they are so damn ugly and pointless and broken and unkept and lame!!

Lim Thuan Seng and Donald Lim (sheeesh, cronies as both work in the Tourism Ministry) did not do diddly squat about the money allocated to celebrate PJ’s city-hood issue. The whole ‘the city council will spend RM10 million to celebrate our city-hood, but oh since people complain about this huge amount, let’s cut it down to RM2 million but when date came, nothing happened so where the fuck did the RM10 or RM2 million go’ fiasco went unnoticed. The MBPJ remains corrupt and opaque. They don’t give a shit about its residents and all they’ve ever done is to close its door whenever we demand for something like disclosure of funds and accounts. OMG and all the stories I’ve heard about MBPJ officers going around demanding ‘protection’ money from local business owners. REVOLTING.

The local council must be lobbied against. We cannot vote for Dr Lim Thuan Seng and Donald Lim Siang Chai for letting this happen without doing anything about it. For four years, PJ has gotten worse in terms of livelihood, safety and environment. Also, assessment rates have been raised and people were not happy about it. I think after elections, I’m going to start something to get local council elections back in place again. I’m sick of MBPJ corrupting my beloved ‘kampung’. I’ve had enough.

Save PJ. It’s the only place I call home. Please vote for change and take proactive stance to make our lives better.

ps: I’m still incoherent. Busy busy busy!

pps: I haven’t seen Donald Lim around ever either. Last I saw him was at Parliament. He called me ‘leng lui’ after I told him I was one of his constituents.

    Dear Ms. Tikus,

    I took this from vbglau.blogspot.com.

I wonder how you would respond to it.

It was written by an obnoxious little kid.

    Thank you Ms. Tikus.

p/s- can i call you poly?

“Look, if you support the opposition, vote for them by all means. If you believe in them, if you believe in their abilities then yes, support them all you like. But don’t vote for them just because you want something different. How can you buy into something you have no faith in? Similarly, if you think the current government is doing a good job, then go for it. Re-elect them. But don’t do it just because you don’t like the particular opposition party.

When I was young, I couldn’t understand why there were so many spoilt votes. I always wondered how people could be so stupid to not understand that they have to mark a simple ‘X’ next to the person they liked. Now I know why they did it. I think most of the spoilt votes came from people who didn’t like either of the options they were provided and wanted to voice their opinion.

Honestly, it seems like a pretty good option at the moment.”

  2. # 2 Charlotte Says:

    Dear Samparana,

Perhaps you may ask vbglau some of these questions:

Have spoilt votes have gotten us somewhere?
Does the ruling party even care?
Does the ruling party even know the intention of spoilt votes? (heh)

Give the opposition parties a chance and hold them to their word.
It’s been 50 years with BN and look who we have a ministers… isn’t it a joke?

At then end of the day, who would you pick?
    Badawi (zzz…)?
Najib (together with his wife plus Mahathir behind his back)? or
    Anwar?

We’ve seen what fellas who stay with BN can(not) do.
How much longer? How much longer?

  3. # 3 polytikus Says:

    dear samparana,

poly is fine, but tikus is better :)

i’m no stranger to vincent’s rants and you said it yourself, he’s an obnoxious little kid. his blog attracts either like minded obnoxious kids or those who dare speak up and pick his brain because they disagree with him. i devoid myself of rant blogs because that’s just what they are - rants, bitching, complaining, whining obnoxious crap which is at best, entertaining. who takes it seriously? lol.

but if you’re asking me about the idea of spoilt votes. i think it benefits no one (although john would disagree). if he chooses to waste his democratic right then so be it. just that when petrol prices go up, inflation notches up another 30 percent or if he gets arrested one day for sedition … i better not hear him whine about it. but if he does, i also don’t care lah. lol.

those who don’t vote or spoil their vote, have no right to complain about the govt or opposition. in the words of huzir sulaiman, “if you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem”.

  4. # 4 johnleemk Says:

Haha, the age-old spoilt votes debate. I think it’s entirely up to the individual voter to decide about the usefulness of spoiling their vote, but if the choice is between BN and spoiling your vote, I would encourage you to spoil your vote. Some people just cannot bring themselves to vote for DAP or PAS, and I understand why (even though I disagree with them) - in that case, I would encourage these people to either abstain or spoil their vote. “None of the above” should be a valid choice. At the very least, those will be votes BN won’t get.

  5. # 5 Anonymous Coward Says:

Your rants are good risalah material lah miss tikus. But the f-bombs must go first lah :P

“.. last year on Chinese New Year and Hari Raya (cos got open house) and this Chinese New Year (for open house, again).”

That’s exactly what I shared with people. (I’m from Setapak, but had no luck to vote for Wee Choo Keong.) I really can’t remember what Yew Teong Look has done for us here, I just know that for the past few years, snatching has gotten worse and worse in Wangsa Maju. But I remember that whenever it’s CNY or Mooncake festival, he’ll be there to distribute mandarin oranges and mooncakes.

Oh yea, a few days back, I read from the paper that Mr. Yew was involved in giving permit to temples at Putra Jaya, how nice. ;-)

For all the goodies happened JUST recently, people should be wise enough to tell how well the government has been serving the people.

    Vbglau and Samparana,

“But don’t vote for them just because you want something different. How can you buy into something you have no faith in?”

Politic is NOT religion. Although they both suck under the sun of anarchy.

These MCA running dogs are good and obedient dogs actually. House broken and very well trained by their masters, UMNO. When their masters, UMNO, take them out for a walk, they will walk side by side with their masters, tails wagging and tongues hanging out and all.

MCA dogs are especially well trained to fetch their masters’ slippers.

  9. # 9 Crankshaft Says:

Hi Tikus, some of these politicians are damn celaka la. They ignore us for 3 years, 11 months and 2 weeks and then they try to kiss ass.

  10. # 10 kamikaze Says:

I do not see the signboard “community project by so and so” at walkway in other countries. Do let me know if you see one in country other than Malaysia.

This is something ought to be done by the government for the benefits of the citizen and there is NO need to put on a signboard to claim credit on that.

Is this kind of government you want in Malaysia? What kind of mentality is that? BN sucks!

  11. # 11 Harrison bin Hansome Says:

I ever heard of accounts of people coming in from remote areas in busses and upon unloading themselves, packets (contains RM30) were distributed to them.

Some representatives of the contesting MPs esp in remote areas were giving away largesse. Villagers are been given a gas stove on the spot and when these MP wins they can collect gas cylinders.

Most MPs are snake oil sales man. They reneged on their pre-election pledges.

The commenter with the handle “Dr. Tan” was right when he charged that I was abysmal in spelling. I lost my dictionary more than 3 years back and only depended on online dictionary only when I write a formal letter.

For me, I WOULD vote for the opposition parties by given them a chance to prove themselves. No, I don’t really trust them, but what can I do? There is no thomas Jefferson here but to the likes of Eva Peron(Evita) and Horatio Bottomley.

    Sorry for the late reply…

Vincent may be obnoxious and rants a lot, but its clear that he doesn’t support any party at the moment. But that doesn’t mean that Vincent is a lost case. He is still willing to support someone who he believes in, as evident from his interest in the US elections. To him, neither parties are giving him a good enough reason to support them. So instead of brushing him off like how the government always brushes off the opposition and their supporters, don’t you think the opposition should think of how they can win people like him over?

  16. # 16 polytikus Says:

i’m sure the opposition can try but i for one think some people learn politics the easy way and some people the hard. vincent appears to fall under the latter category. he may not be supporting any parties but from the looks of it, neither is he willing to do anything remotely constructive about it. politics is not just about interest but approach and temperament. sorry to say, it seems he’ll be disliking domestic politics for a very long time. it’s not so much my loss and it is his :)

  17. # 17 Harrison bin Hansome Says:

Scuze me, may I know who this Vincent is? I don’t normally read commenteries in this blog unless it concerns me…which is this lad by the nick or name of “vincent”!

I have encounter people who speaks a lot against the government, but when they successfully being awarded some Government projects, they wavers and change their tone…I am wondering if someone offer this “tikus” to crossover to a pro-government mainstream media, would she echo the same tone again?
