Vegetarian.

Dear all,

I have gone vegetarian! Mostly for health reasons :) Maybe ethical but more health than anything. I’m still eating seafood but I’ll try to phase that out in time to come. Question is … where are all the awesome vegetarian restaurants? So dear readers, it would be great if any of you have any ideas as to where I can find a good organic meals or awesome salads. I’d really appreciate any tips as to where I can get great vegetarian recipes online too! :)

Thanks y’all :)

As far as I concern, there is no 100% organic meals restaurant in malaysia because it requires different ingredients and style of cooking. But you can find nice organic+vegetarian shop around. One of it is Organic Vegetarian Fresh Mart and Restaurant in SS18/1B in Subang Jaya. Another one is TTDI but I forget the name. You can find vegetarian recipes in Long Life Magazine and maybe LOHAS magazine. Better to use organic ingredients to cook as some vegetarian ingredients is not good for health. Nice hearing you become a vegetarian. I still can’t let go of meat.

Lian Chi in Taman Sea, SS23.
Nanking Court near SS2 and Section 19
Another restaurant (sorry, i can’t remember the name), first floor of Centrepoint.
Tian Yan in SS2, the row behind McDonalds
Big Bowl Organic Vegetarian noodles, Same row as Mcdonalds SS2

Often what my family does when we go out for a typical chinese tai chau (order rice and dishes) type meal is to just order lots of veges. We’re not strict religious vegetarrian, so even if they fry the veges with dry prawns or mince meat we’ll still eat it. We just don’t order meat dishes.

Thinking about what’s near your office - a couple indian vegetarian places : Mamitas in Bangsar, behind TMC, its a 1st floor restoran above a mechanic i think. Some of the stalls across from it are vegetarian as well. The chinese vegetarian stall in Megamall top floor food court is quite good too, but crazy mahal! Enjoy :)

Have you tried Sangeeta for delicious South Indian Food, Indian Chinese Food - yup and its spicy.
Sangeeta is located at Lebuh Ampang and at Masjid India near Palace Hotel.
If you have gone vegetarian, better start enjoying Indian food, plenty of vegetarian food available -
Try the Nan/Tandoori Roti - stuffed or plain with palak paneer, gobi Massala.
Hahaa, there I go again, doing some PR for Indian food!!
On Leboh Ampang, there’s woodlands, Bangsar there’s Saravanan Bhavan, Anna Laxmi at Mid Valley
Many of the fancy restaurants hardly have a vegetarian menu, but having you turn vegan is good, may induce these places to offer more vegetarian selections.
Need to know more, you have my email
