Fireworks.

This is the first part of the photo essay tag by Pei Ling.

I grew up with fireworks. Before the ban in the 1990s, I used to usher in the Lunar New Year with 10 foot long firecrackers. In the morning, the driveway would be covered in a gorgeous hue of fiery red that is almost confetti-like. My siblings and I would be playing fireworks the whole night on the first and second day.

sigh. I miss those days.

This year the entire clan was home. We decided to play some fireworks from whatever small stock we have left. I had my camera with me and here are a couple of shots I took. It was one helluva night. I had so much fun :)

Flower Basket. Tie the basket onto something, light it and watch the spinning colours! :)

I’m not sure what this is, could be one of those sparks that shoots upwards.

My sister using her Patronus charm! Expecto patronum!!!

The streak of light the Thunder Clap leaves behind as it fires straight into the sky followed by a loud bang ‘report’.

Nat enjoying a King Cat sparkler.

Red exploding on grey. Look at the flying cracker exploding!

Close up of a King Cat sparkler. It’s easily the prettiest ones I’ve ever encountered :)

Did anybody play any interesting fireworks this year or past stories to share? :)
