Day 158: The Circus Elephant. on Flickr.Bo the elephant doing his thing at the El Jebel Shriners’ Circus. It had tigers, motorbikes, the dog show, human cannonball … but no trapeze! Bummer. Looks like another trip once Barnum and Bailey rolls in :)

Day 107: The Instawatch Arrival. on Flickr.
My super awesome Instawatches by May28th just arrived today! The Instagram images I chose represent extremely fond memories. The one on the left was my trip to Mongolia in October 2011. It was a hike up the Wish Mountain in Husliin Uul, Dornogobi province where I made a wish for happiness and got it. As for the one of the right, it’s Gajah and Tikus - my little cuddly representation of Mac and I. I love how every Instawatch made has a story behind it :)

Our wedding favors are done! Here is a picture of me testing out the gift tags and we’ve decided on the vertical one. The elephant with his mouse mahout logo is designed by Hooby Groovy and booklets are made by Notbook Notbuk. We decided on booklets because we are both writers and what better way to show that. Also, I insisted in something functional. lol. Stationery love!

Our wedding invites are ready! Gonna send them out in the next couple of days. I’m a big fan of supporting small businesses so these cards are done by NotbookNotbuk. They are also doing booklets as our wedding favors. Mac and I write a lot and I wanted something practical that everyone can use. Can’t wait to see them.

We renamed ‘Bodhi’ from the Denver Zoo to ‘Gajah’. The details on this little guy is amazing for an Asian elephant. Right down to the two bumps on the head and his small ears. He is the cutest thing ever and I love him to bits :)

This is the elephant trunk and the mouse nose. I originally made the mouse nose brown but it started to look like a dog more than a mouse. So after purchasing the gray felt, I decided to remake the mouse nose by sewing the pieces of felt together first then spray mounting them onto cardboard. Materials for making your own photobooth props are pretty easy to find in the Klang Valley area. My dowels, foamboard and spray mount are from Art Friend located in The Gardens Mall, MidValley City. Round dowels measures about 36” and costs RM2.40 per stick, my large foam board was RM36 and 3M spray mount costs RM26.90. I got my felt from Cziplee in Bangsar (RM4 for a big piece) and from Syarikat Sin Wah in Old Town PJ (RM2 for A4 sized pieces). Art Friend sells the A4 sizes for RM1.20 but Old Town is just so much more accessible for me. lol. The templates and ideas for my photobooth props are from Oh Happy Day and Craftzee. Using felt and ordinary cardboard is another option you can explore because foam board is really difficult to work with if you don’t have the right blade/knife and the right printer/ink to print the templates. But I still had fun making my own props :)
